What to Do On a Date

16 September, 2009 (07:10) | dating, how to crush | By: Kier Duros

With my current schedule getting in the way of all sorts of things, I have yet to write what I planned on for this space.

Luckily, friends in other places stumble across interesting things.

For example, here’s a little vintage educational film about dating…

By today’s standards, that’s some amazingly tame (and downright square) stuff. At least for most people I know. Even more so for those of us in our third decade.

But it did get me thinking about two things: First Dates and Best Dates.

And since I’m pressed for time, I turn the stage over to you, dear readers. Tell me stories of your First Date and/or of your Best Date.

Best date will have to be with this older, Italian guy I went out with. We went to this fancy Italian restaurant, and he ordered everything in Italian. The food was amazing, and the wine kept flowing. After that, we hit three different lounges, and he was very debonaire. However, I knew that it wasn’t going to go anywhere, so the next day, I told him that I had a lovely time, but I knew it wasn’t going to work. Amazing date though.

That does sounds absolutely divine.

Sometimes there’s no need for a fancy future promise in a good time out.

Hmm… dates never went well for me – and the ones that did… apparently weren’t considered a “date” by the opposite party. Probably why I skip to the good stuff and see if they’re receptive or not – then I can at least sorta tell what the context/interest is.

I could have used a tutorial like this early on. :-)
